Description

Overview:
Board games and virtual games can be utilized with children, adolescents, and
families within a play therapy context. Some are created specifically for therapy
and others can be adapted for therapeutic interventions. This workshop assists
students to recognize that value of game play as part of a play therapy intervention
aligning with a variety of play therapy models.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Discuss how marketed games can be adapted to be therapeutic in the Play
Therapy room.
2. Explore virtual games that can be utilized in Play Therapy with children and
adolescents. .
3. Discuss the value of games for each stage of Play Therapy.
4. Connect various games with specific therapeutic powers of play.
5. Play in small groups with therapeutic games.
